Some DIY Tips

Do It Yourself Cabinet Installation

Once you have your new cabinets onsite, know exactly what clearances you need to accommodate your appliances.
Have your flooring installed (or as an alternative you provide shims to account for the flooring thickness), When you are ready to begin the installation process. It is a matter of personal preference whether to install the upper cabinets or lowers first. I prefer to install the lower cabinetry first as it provides a platform to aid in supporting the uppers during installation.
Determine the high point of your floor:
Floors are never level. Even in new construction, It is not uncommon to find a 1/2" difference in the floor elevation within the footprint of the cabinets. You can find this high point using a number of different tools. If you have access to a laser level, just use a tape to measure from the laser mark to the floor , Where this measurement is the smallest is your high point. You can also use a 4ft carpenters level.
Establishing a reference line along the wall:
Once you have established the high point, I recommend placing a mark on the wall adjacent to the high point a distance equal to the height of your lower cabinets plus 1 inch. Then use a chalk line or pencil to accurately mark a level line along the wall at the same height as the mark. This line will be your reference. You will be shimming your cabinets so where they meet the wall, the tops will be 1 inch below the mark.
There are several important requirements to a professional cabinet installation, but none is more important than ensuring that your cabinets are level. Using the methods outlined above will help to ensure your cabinets are perfectly level.
